CHURCH CANCELED Sunday, 7/24
This morning (Saturday), we discovered a major water break on the church property that completely flooded the courtyard. We got the water turned off and it doesn't appear that there's any building damage, but we will have to keep the water turned off until the break can be assessed and fixed on Monday.
Due to the water being turned off, we are CANCELING CHURCH TOMORROW, JULY 24TH, since there will not be any restrooms.
This is a great opportunity to visit another area church, and experience worship in a different setting. Perhaps worship in our community will spark some ideas and passion for our own context!
Agape Christian Church is a Disciples of Christ church meeting at 627 Dixie Ave. Or, there's Path of Life Christian Church (www.polcc.org), also Disciples, meeting at 11:15 am at 1314 Leesburg Rd.
Garden of Grace United Church of Christ (www.gogucc.com) is part of a sister denomination to the Disciples of Christ, and meets at 11:00, 1020 Atlas Rd. I'm sure they'd love to have you!
We'll keep you updated as learn how quickly we will be able to resolve the issue. In the meantime, thank you for your prayers, and know that we are church whether we meet in the building on Sunday morning or not!
Peace be with you,
A place for worship.
A place for learning. A place for enrichment. A place for friendship. A place for service.
We rejoice in the knowledge that God has crossed our paths today! We pray that he opens our eyes to how we can encourage you and experience the blessings of your presence with us. We do not believe your visit to our Church Home Page was by chance, so we invite you to visit with our church family as we worship, learn, grow and encourage one another.
Jesus established the church to be a community of believers, a family, to encourage each other in unity and to project His love to the world. As a family, our goal is to love each other without conditions or expectations. We confess that we are unable, on our own, to practice the unconditional love demonstrated by our Father, but we pray and desire that He empowers us to demonstrate His love to you and those around us.
If you are searching for a group of people to accept you as you are, and challenge you to grow in your reflection of God's love, "Welcome" for that is our goal. For us who call First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Columbia, our home, we commit to pray, to listen with compassion, to forgive and to nurture.
We invite you to explore our Father with us in worship, fellowship and growth. Please feel free to visit our church home.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son.
